AKA COL. GRAYSON; American Turf Register, 1857, Vol.19, p.35; (and p.28-29), owned by Mr. William Henry Chappell/Ontario, carpenter trade, jockey, horse breeder (*1822 Genesee County/N.Y., lived 1857/1860 in Canada - died after 1905), racing, 7 years of age - also in it: ANN BELL, by FRANK and KITTY CLYDE), then returned to USA. At the Cuyahoga country fair 1861 COLONEL GRAYSON was awarded as first premium thoroughbred stallion owned by General [J.W.] Fitch and also was exhibited Fist Premium Mare KITTY CLYDE (probably thoroughbred) of A. Blackman, Solon, O.(Ohio?), no age, no pedigree, no colour. At the fair in Detroit 1862 General Jabez Warner Fitch (1823-1884 Cleveland), Cleveland, exhibited him again - best stallion, classification: 4 years or older...; sire of (CAN)colt JAS. RILEY (XX), *1858 and (CAN)filly GRACEY (XX) *~1859 both o.o. EYRIE (Gray Eagle-Leopardess).
