bred by Lord Bruce; The General Stud Book, 1861, Vol.9, p.46 (BRIBERY); was sent to (AH) = Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (Austrian Empire), early 1860, as sire stood at Hungary/Ungarn till ~1872, owned by Graf/Gróf Josef Hunyady, Ürmeny, near Tornocz; Then passed to Bohemia/Böhmen (Landbeschäler) in Bunzlau (now Mladá Boleslav, Boleslavský kraj, Czech Republic/CZ) and Nimburg (now Nymburk, between Praha and Pardubice); was killed by old age, December 1877; Unfortunately, the Bohemian breeders there often only used him as a stopgap, which often led to unclear paternity of the offspring. (Dort haben ihn die böhmischen Züchter leider oft nur als Lückenbüßer eingesetzt, was oft zu einer unklaren Vaterschaft des Nachwuchses führte.) DER SPORN, January 5, 1878;
