AKA Pigot Arabian and Bolingbroke's Grey Arabian Possibly imported, and named for the city of Qom (pronouced Koomb) in central Persia [now Iran], as there is no explanation for his name from any of his owners, none of whom were called Coombe, or from any of his stud locations in England. He was owned by George Pigot, 1st Baron Pigot, and stood as the Coombe Arabian in 1770 and 1771 at Chesterton Hall, near Stilton, Huntingdonshire and then at Pooksley-Green in Northamptonshire from 1772 to 1776, his fee declining during that time from 10 to 5 guineas. Covered mares 1768-1773, for George Pigot, the Duke of Grafton, and Henry Vernon. He had over 25 recorded progeny, principally fair class racehorse Pastime, winner of 12 races, good class racehorse Methodist (1771 King's Plate Newmarket) and an unnamed mare which is dam of Crop (1782 Claret Stakes, 2nd 1781 Derby).
