Won: New S. (Ascot), Exeter S. (Newmarket), Prince of Wales's Plate (York), Champagne S. (Doncaster), Middle Park Plate, Newmarket S. (Newmarket, 10f) 2nd: Molecomb S. (Goodwood), Union Jack S. (Liverpool), Two Thousand Guineas S. Finished first in the Two Thousand Guineas, but judge C. E. Robinson claimed to have not seen Ismay's colors and named Louvois the winner. Also finished first in The Derby by a head but was disqualified for not keeping a straight course and bumping - the race was awarded to Aboyeur. Breeder: Sir Tatton Sykes The South American bloodstock market was booming, so immediately after the Derby he was sold by Mr. Ismay to Sr. de Hoz for £30,000, with the one stipulation that he should not race again. Sent to Argentina in 1913. Ranked 2nd on the Argentine general sire list in 1919; 3rd in 1921 and 1928-1929; and 4th in 1922 and 1926-1927. He also led the Argentine broodmare sire list in 1936.
