Mr Hobart was a Vermonter, who moved to TX before 1900 and became the foreman for the JA Ranch.

In 1920, Dixie Dan #7096 was transferred to the JA Ranch in his care. Dixie Dan was sold to WP. Thornhill, Miami, TX in 1927.
