Imported to Poland 1929, raced 2/8 (4-4-0) Three of her five offspring won the Polish Derby: Rutbah in 1936, Sagar in 1937, and Urgence in 1939. Sagar was unbeaten, winning all of her seven races. In 1945, the Germans ordered the evacuation of Gumniska Stud to Poznan. Unfortunately the evacuees were caught between retreating Germans and advancing Russians, and most of the horses, including Djeballa, Sagar, and Urgence were killed. But Sagar's one colt survived, and one of Urgence's two offspring went on to win the 1947 Polish Derby. Owner: Gumniska Stud, Poland Breeder: C Darrigan, France
