Eternal Fistful was foaled on April 1st, 1976. He was bred by Harold A. Howard in Michigan. Eternal Fistful was by Eternal Sun, a Quarter Horse son of the Thoroughbred stallion Eternal War. His dam was Silent One, a daughter of Dividend, a Superior Race Horse. Eternal Fistful was a full-brother to Eternal One, an AQHA Champion and winner of the NRHA Reining Futurity and Congress Reining Futurity.

Eternal Fistful placed in the Top Ten of the Open Aged Halter Stallion class at the 1981 AQHA World Show. He earned 74.0 halter points and a Superior Halter award. He was owned by Drs. A. J. and Sally B. Prickett and later purchased by John and Kay Bitter. He stood at Covered Gate Quarter Horses in San Antonio, Texas. Eternal Fistful sired 362 AQHA registered foals with 90 performers including Top 10 World Show Offspring, Superior Halter, Superior Performance, NRHA $ Earners, ROM Halter, ROM Performance, Performance Point Earners, 33 western pleasure points. He was well-known for siring halter horses that also excelled in performance events. His notable offspring included Fistful of Bees, Fistful Sun Sally, Fistfuls Sheba, Katie Starlet and Touch of Gucci.
