However, after some years in Dutch breeding, a blood test done showed the FLGW in the Netherlands was not the same as the pony which left England. In the meantime, the pony "Golden Wonder" had been used widely in the Dutch breeding for his ability to sire good sport ponies, and 17 of his sons had been approved for breeding as well - not to mention the countless mares. Given that foreign blood has not been accepted in the British New Forest studbook since 1930, this resulted in a division between many countries' studbooks, some respecting the mother country rules and others accepting GW offspring as purebred New Forest ponies. Between 1992 and 2012, the NFPBCS decided to allow offspring with a maximum of 6.25% GW blood to be registered in the official New Forest studbook. Owner: van de Rakt, Nistelrode, NLD (1970)
