Grey Mist in Silver Shales pedigre. Information got from the late miss Elizabeth Colquohoun ages ago. Grey Mist was a 14.3 mare born in Egypt about 1915, she was raced there and then sold to Major S Medcalf in Gibraltar who raced her and played polo for some years and then took her back to UK to play, unfortunely she got lame and she was given to Mrs Margaret Colquohoun as a broodmare. Grey Mists first foal was a filly called Tantrum by Malice, she then had 8 colts in a row by Rialto Bridge (GSB). Grey Mist was refused entry in AHSB as Lady Wentworth and Major Medcalf had some old *problems*and did not speak to each other so Lady Wentworth told the registration committe that Grey Mist clearly showed signs of Barb bloodlines (her head was common, and so on).
