Habicht\'s dam, the black Hallo, resembled a lot her mother Handschelle, the strongest and tallest of the 20 mares saved from the National Stud Trakehnen in 1945 through a passport issued by England\'s General Bolton....For her breeder...Hallo produced several foals...At age of eight she herself embarked on a successful sport career that made her very well known in the competition rings of Northern Germany, ridden by her owner Guenther Stut of Hmaburg. When stut took his little son Deiter...to Hallo\'s birthplace, Dieter fell so in love with the foals there that he wanted one for himself He begged his father to breed Hallo again. Burnus,...was the father of choice. Thus Hallo returned home and produced her last foal before she was sold to Denmark...This last foal, Habicht (Hawk) earned his mother a place in breeding history...she died at age 30.
