As a six year old Heartbreaker was 5th at the World Championship for young horses at Lanaken. In the following year he was 4th at Lanaken in the World Championships. Since then Heartbreaker has performed at 1.40 m. level with Peter Geerink.
They were 3rd in Oslo and they won a Volvo Car in the Finals of Indoor Wierden in 1997. They also won the title 'Best Stallion' at the 1.40 class in Zwolle. In 1998 Heartbreaker started his first Grand Prix. He was 3rd in the G.P. of Hamburg, Falsterbro and Geesteren. In 1999 Heartbreaker continued his successful career by finishing 4th in the prestigious Grand Prix of Aachen and winning the 'Championat' of Dortmund.
