Bravo was bred and raised by Margit Bessenyey. His sire *Pilot was leased to Margit by his owner, Earl W. Bell of Idaho. Pilot was born in the Polish Stud Janow Podlaski in 1943 and imported to the US by the Remount. Bravo’s dam *52 Gazal II was also imported by the Remount and later purchased by Margit Bessenyey. Bravo was of excellent Shagya Arabian type, of good size and substantial bone. His neck was long and well set on and his hind quarters powerful. His legs were straight and correct. Upon Margit’s death in 1984, Bravo was sold to Adele Furby (the founder of the North American Shagya Society), where he became the foundation sire for Shagyas in America. He was struck by lightning and killed in the summer of 1988 at Adele's in Hall, Montana. At the Bitteroot Stock Farm Bravo sired three foals out of the same Percheron mare who became excellent driving horses. He is also the sire of 3 Hungarian Felvers and almost 30 Shagyas or part Shagya Arabians. He has 4 sons who are sires: H. Baron Gyemant, Bravado(standing in Venezuela), Bold Bravo and Blixten. http://adeles-shagyas.com/hungarian-bravo/ Owner: Adele Furby, Hall, MT Breeder: Baroness Margit Bessenyey, MT
