sent to France in 1850
Journal des Haras 1861 : a desertbred stallion bred and raised by a tribe around Bagdad, sent as a gift to the Great Vizir by the local Pacha, bought by M. du Pont in Constantinople from the Great Vizir himself and imported into France in 1850 for the National Studs, to Pompadour then Le Pin in 1858.
Comments : very good conformation with a lot of strength, large and noble, a most ideal type, very good movements, a most precious stallion of 1st rate quality. Very good results when bred at Pompadour over Thoroughbred, Anglo and Arabian mares, foals showing great strength and beautiful movement but somehow lacking type. Lacking good fertility rate when sent to Le Pin.
