Sheila mare Thompson’s first registered Appaloosa foal by Ferras was Sheila F6, foaled in 1935. Claude Thompson, called “Mister Appaloosa”, was known as the breeder that worked to save the breed, by many within the ApHC throughout the years. He is often claimed to be a noted Appaloosa breeder, whose program started in the late 1920s in the areas of Monkland and Moro, Oregon.
