Bred by J. Rousseau, France. Imported to Germany 1914. Before he came to Germany he was allways ridden at a trot, not driven, 1:32,9/ 1:28,2; won French Derby (Lisieux/Calvados); was bought by the French State Stud Administration (30.000 Frs.) for stud Saint-Lô (Haras national de Saint-Lô), because of his enormous achievements, tremendous stamina, enormous beauty and his correct structure. As a result of disputes, however, it was taken back by its previous owner (M. de Marcillac) and sold to Germany out of defiance, it is said. (source: Dr. Karl Julius Horn: Die Entwicklung der Traberzucht in Deutschland; 1925, August Reher-Verlag, Berlin, p.67., but Horn said, when he saw a photo: nice top line, a little too long waist, too long neck and a horrible mule head). Owend by Hinrich Heitmann, stud Gestüt Altengamme/Hamburg, since 1923 owend by Werner von Lowtzow in Gottin, near Warnkenhagen/Mecklenburg. He was also used for half-blood breeding. died ~ 1928.
