For years, Karlisle was a sire for Rushcreek Ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska. He sired many good ranch and using horses. He also sired outstanding endurance horses including the great Ken, who, ridden by Pat Fitzgerald of Nevada, finished first on the 1962 and 1963 Tevis Cup Rides and was awarded the Tevis cup in the latter year. (Interesting story.) In addition, Karlisle was the sire of Quist, who, also ridden by Pat Fitzgerald, finished second in the 1970 Tevis Cup ride behind the legendary Witezarif, ridden by Pat's wife Donna. Karlisle was also the grandsire of Tevis Cup Winners Rushcreek Champ and Rushcreek Eaton, and two time Tevis Cup Winner and holder of the Course record Rushcreek Hans.
