Bred by Tom O'Neill, IRE While every family of Irish Draughts has produced noteworthy show jumpers and eventers, maybe none has done this more consistently than King of Diamonds. This chestnut stallion was by Errigal out of Ruby. He ranked seventh as a sire of show jumpers in world rankings from 1990 to 1995. The international show jumpers Special Envoy, Mill Pearl and Millstreet Ruby are by King of Diamonds. Was bred in Slyguff Stud in Co Carlow.foaled in 1962, and standing with the O Neills at their Slyguff Stud, Bagenalstown, in Co. Carlow. Among the outstanding showjumpers sired by this horse are Carrolls Young Diamond, Cill Chainnigh, and Eddie Mackens partner, Carrolls Royal Lion. Died 1991 He is alongside Clover Hill, the two most renowned irish sires to have lived.
