Larno was the champion of his approval in 1989 and then reserve champion of his performance test the year after. He scored a remarkable 142.60 which included scores of 9 for walk and trot and a 10 for his canter! He also received 9.5 for his manners under saddle, 9.2 for free jumping and 9.6 for jumping under saddle. This showed him to be a very versatile stallion having both excellent paces and jumping ability. In 1991 he was the Neumunster Champion, and he was a successful Grand Prix dressage horse. His pedigree contains three male ancestors known for their hereditary jumping ability. In fact Larno has the same genetic makeup as the famous jumping stallion Libero H. On the dam side we find Ronald who was the sire of the international jumping sire Saluut. And of course we find G Ramiro Z, one of the most influential sires of Europe. And finally we find Farn, who was a foundation sire for the Dutch Warmblood breed and who sired such famous stallions as Nimmerdor and Amulet, #2 and #13 in the Dutch jumping index. Farn himself holds 4th place. Larno\\\'s dam had three full sisters who were states premium mares; one of them had several wins jumping 1.40 m. His great grand-dam produced the approved stallions Manchester, Latino and Lanciano.
