10-9-1-0, $414,200. Sold for $250,000 as a yearling, a record at the time. Majestic Prince was unbeaten until his loss in the Belmont Stakes (finished 2nd, was injured). His win in the Kentucky Derby gave trainer Johnny Longden the distinction of being the only person in history to train and ride a Derby winner (Count Fleet). Also won the Preakness S., Santa Anita Derby, San Jacinto S., San Vicente S., Los Feliz S. entered stud in 1970 at Spendthrift Farm, KY 362 foals, 33 SW Majestic Prince sired at least one Quarter Horse. He was bred to Miss Angel Eyes, winner of the 1970 Kansas Futurity. The pairing produced Four One Zero, a chestnut mare that was never better than third on the track. Majestic Prince’s sire, Raise a Native, was extremely influential in the Quarter Horse industry through his sons Raise Your Glass, Nativo and Heisanative.
