The Blue Line stallion, MARBLE (254) had two of the studbook’s outstanding mares in his pedigree. They were Colie Griffins Windy(782), his paternal grand dam, and Martin Mulkerrins’ Callowfeenish Dolly 2nd,(1913) his dam. Two of Marble’s sisters out of Callowfeenish Dolly 2nd, Atlantic Mist(2175) and Abbeyleix Delphinium, (7908) were Clifden champions. A brother, Abbeyleix Dolphin was also a Clifden winner.
John Brennan bought MARBLE as a foal at the Maam Cross fair in '66. He won the yearling colt class in '67 and 2yo in '68. He won the stallion class, both ridden classes and Confined championship in '73. He was paraded at the Equitana in Essen in '75 by Bord na gCapall. Marble was sold to H.B. Nielsen, of the Oxenholm stud in Denmark, and was champion of the first international show in Roskilde in'77. At Oxenholm he stood beside Cnoc Dabuidhe(606) and another John Brennan export Rory Rua(517). Unfortunately MARBLE died young, aged 15.
