It is possible MH (Malignant hyperthermia) originated thru Miss Ogallala. So far all horses w/ MH trace back to her. MH results in excessive release of calcium inside skeletal muscle cells. Increase of muscle metabolism raises body temperature & triggers potentially fatal hypermetabolic state. Cannot use anesthesia for surgery.
