This three time national steeplechase champion won twice under 173lbs. Won the American Grand National three times and the Temple Gwathmey twice. At 4, Neji won the Brook Steeplechase Handicap & earned a 2nd in the Grand National. The following year he again won the Brook & carried 167 pounds while winning the Grand National and the Temple Gwathmey. He was also named Steeplechase Horse of the Year for 1955, 1957 & 1958. His earnings record was not surpassed until 1982, the year of Neji's death.
