Coat was snow white. William H. Steward, a member of President Lincoln's cabinet, took a government trip to Arabia and was presented by local officials a beautiful white Arabian stallion know as Omar. On returning back to American with Omar, Mr. Steward had to forfeit his new horse, who landed in the hands of Dan Rice. Mr. Rice was a showman who incorporated Omar in his circus around North central Ohio.
