Junior Champion Stallion at the 1957 National Morgan Show;Grand Champion Stallion, New York State Fair, 1957. On Sunday, January l9, l958, a very tragic fire at Orcland Farms in West Newbury, MA, destroyed the main barn and much of the Orcutt Morgan breeding stock. Only Ulendon, a mare named Anna Darling, and Orcland Gaylass were saved due to the heroic efforts of Jim Anderson, working there at the farm. That weekend, Ruth and Lyman Orcutt were enroute back from New Orleans, where they had journeyed to accept the AHSA High Score Award which their great versatile stallion, Supersam 10426, a 7 year old, 15.1 stallion by Lippitt Sam, had been awarded. Supersam along with Orcland Gayman 11218, Ulenda 09401, Townsend Lady Sensation 06937 and 9 others of their prime Morgan breeding stock, along with 4 boarded horses, were lost in the fire.
