email- [email protected] Thank You. Destiny is doing grand.Note: Desty aka Manny has been in our family his entire 37 years.
Other Info- My parents Jack and Marie Taylor purchased reg Morgan \\\'Stormy Jo\\\' Dam of \\\'Our Destiny\\\'. Both \\\'Stormy Jo\\\' and her foal \\\'Our Destiny\\\' located at the Taylor Farm \\Just-A-Morgan\\ Horse Farm Jack and Marie Taylor in Grafton Vermont \\\'Stormy Jo\\\' died at age 32/complications of Heaves- Equine COPD. Jack Taylor trained \\Our Destiny\\. Carriage, Sleigh, Sulky, Pleasure Horse. Cross trained both English and Western. \\Our Destiny enjoyed working in the woods pulling cord wood, etc. He has always delighted in work and extremely intelligent. \\Our Destiny\\ stood at the Grafton Vt.Farm and sired many. Looking for information pertaining to any of \\Our Destiny\\\'s\\ off-spring.
Please Note: Health conditions have been 1.Equine COPD and 2.Cushings Disease which \\Our Destiny\\ developed #1 at age 17 though doing fine to date. Feed \\\'Complete Feed/ Senior horse feed since 2010. A specific diet designed for senior and health needs. He is free to go in and out of barn. He prefers to be outside free will. He prefers the cold winters of the NE region!
#2. \\Our Destiny\\ is showing slight signs of longer hair growth (minimal) on a few spots of his body and at age 37 Vets are in awe over his otherwise great health, longevity, confirmation, stamina. He is still running, kicking up his heels and enjoying life to the fullest. Sound-excellent feet. Another medical note if this assists other- Vets tried various spray (allergy, anti-inflammatory medications) to treat his Equine COPD. After making daily notations, I noticed that he was having severe bouts of coughing/wheezing,shortness of breath, particularly in hot humind seasons, high pollen counts. I suggested to Vets that perhaps the medications were opening up his air passages too much. They agreed. We made the collective decision to cease all medications. He rallied back to health within 2 months after ceasing medications for COPD. That was in 2003/04. Thus the medications, at least in his particular case, were making the Equine COPD worse to severe. So severe that I had made plans to put him to rest in the autumn of 2004. Thankfully with a specially designed diet, supplements, premium hay, (keeping Golden Rod cut away from pasture areas, keeping barn and areas as dust free as possible) and free to go in and out of barn-plenty of fresh air- \Our Destiny\ as said above, celebrated his 37th birthday this year. Now nine (9) years longer than anticipated. Goes to show, never give up on your horse. Hope this information helps anyone researching their horses bloodlines from this magnificent sire. \\Our Destiny\\\' remained a stallion until age 9. He was gelded in 1985. He has been with me here at Worster Farm Springvale, Maine - York County since 1985. He has out-lived all pasture mates. As of November 28 2011 sadly had to have his pasture mate- Quarter Horse Reg Name- \\Sugar Story Boy\\ aka Symon put to rest at age 17.
Our Destiny celebrated this years birthday with his special cake.
