Born in Germany. Was considered a German horse; RUBICELLE (E.C.- Nr. 605) [Import certificat No.] was sold to the Technische Commission For Harness Racing, Berlin/ GERMANY in 1899, pregnant by CHARLES DERBY. She was added to the herd of mares Deutsches-Haupt-Traber-Gestüt LILIENHOF, Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl, Baden (- Württemberg). He won the Derby in Berlin-Westend 1903, 1:41,2. Owner Paul Maass, driver Carl Witt, he also won Jungendpreis and Buddenbrock-Memorial. He became a fiscal breeding stallion in 1906, stud Königlich preussisches Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gestüt [now Landgestüt Neustadt/Dosse, Brandenburg. Stud manager was Country stable master Arnold von Schlüter (owner of the stud/ Gestüt Schweinert an der Warthe [Świniary/ Powiat międzyrzecki, Poland]). There was not bred only Standardbred, but also Halfe blood, Warmblood, Thoroughbred and farmers brought their mares. In 1917 RITTERSPORN sired in the station Domänengehöft LENZEN near Dannenberg/Elbe. Died after 1917, probably in Neustadt an der Dosse. Most Standardbreds (40) at stud of Freiherr Friedrich Ernst von Langen, Plüggentin/Insel Rügen, 1907-1911; other horses difficult to find.
