Satellite, bay Arab, imported at high cost by Sir Thomas Brisbane for the Crown in 1823. Stood little more than 14 hands "with perfect symmetry, combined length, breath, depth and muscle, sufficient to furnish the Mounted Police Corps of the Colony with troop horses which could scarcely be overweighted or over-ridden. Satellite covered his first for the Government at Wellington, New South Wales, later in the stud of Colonel Dumaresq, St Heliers, Hunter River; and finally at the Camden property of the Messrs Macarthur where he died". A very successful sire in the early days of New South Wales; his first stud season was from 15th October to 15th December 1823.
