This beautiful Chestnut filly was a surprise gift from a ‘barren’ old mare that had failed repetitively to conceive when bred to some very fine stallions. The mare was tossed out to live with a herd of Welsh Ponies at the Freedom Rose Farm. She soon showed signs that the pony pasture was not suiting her. In May of 2009 she left for a lifetime lease to a new home were she was to be a spoiled *wink* pet of the ‘granddaughters’
She surprised everyone when it was found that she was going to be a mother! And so came Sugar, who took from her welsh sire- a compact form, and an “I’m the best you’ve ever seen before” attitude, and from her mother an elegant grace.
Shia’s Sugar Dandie is proof that where there is a will, there is also a way…. And welsh pony stallion have a LOT of will.
