As a 5yo, Star Appeal proved to be a horse of international caliber, winning three Group I races, most importantly the Arc (at odds of 119-1) which brought him to the forefront in world racing. Among the horses he beat in that great French race were Allez France, Ivanjica, Dahlia, Nobiliary, Duke Of Marmalade, Bruni and Green Dancer. In 1976 Star Appeal was sent to stud.
