TAVISHEEN . H, APPALOOSA,

Argentine Appaloosas also influenced the American Appaloosa. At least 77 of these horses were being brought into the U.S. and registered with the ApHC as late as the 1960s. The Burnside program imported two different groups of these horses into the U.S. The first known “Spotties” were brought Argentina in 1895 (this is documented). The Argentine leopards, like Tavisheen, Desert King, et. al. (called “Ghost Wind horses” by some), that came to California in the 1920s are said to be descendants of horses left on the Pampas many years ago (like our Mustangs). https://appaloosaterritory.com/Articles/opinions4.html
