bred by J. S. Bate, Louisville, Kentucky, owned by John Boyd Thacher (1847-1909, Mayor of Albany, manufacturer, writer, book collector, horse breeder), Albany, New York. [Wallace ATR, 1879, Vol.3, p.618 says: by WOODFORD MAMBRINO]. Her sire was corrected to PRINCEPS 536, (he by Woodford Mambrino!) in Vol.4/ 1882; Was sold to Italy ~ 1890 (there also known as THETY/TETY), owned by Caval. Giorgio Fossi....I don't know if this correction was known in Italy. There are few Italian books/papers onl., it still says her sire is WOODFORD MAMBRINO (and info for COUNTRY GENTLEMAN,[as dams sire?]. Offspring of TETHYS must be search with both sires...:
