THE AUCTIONEER . G, STANDARDBRED, 1932
| P (2) 2:07 1/4
Undefeated two-year-old pacing champion of 1934. Newspapers of the day described him as roan in color. He was also described as lazy, couldn't be bothered to lift a foot and very quiet. However, when speed was required, he had plenty to give.
The Auctioneer succumbed to illness a few weeks after surviving a fire in the Baker-Palin stable October 25, 1934 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Reports indicated the two-year-old put up a valiant fight but in the end, the lung damage and resulting illness were too much for him to overcome. Rest easy, sweet boy.
