Height: 15hh
The original paddy horse was also known as the coal horse. He pulled a coal cart in Ballyfermot Dublin in the 1970s. His mother the Limerick black mare was brought to Dublin by one of the Farrell brothers who bought and sold a lot of heavy working horses. Thomas Dunne Rip bought him from the Farrell's other owners, Liam Wallace, Joe Ennis Rip, and John Farrell. He got a kick off a mare and and suffered a serious injury and had to be put down. The photo that is shown is not of him; he was nearly all black had a White crooked stripe down his face a bit of White on his wither, four white legs, White tail with white both sides of his tail. The Roadsweeper is very like him on his right hand side. He was about 15 hands tall also I would like to point out that it is said in his pedigree that he is by Henry conners white horse I dont think he is I always thought he was a son of the sunny May's horse there is only 2 years between them so it's highly unlikely that his father was likely to be about a year old it is possible but I don't think a yearling would produce arguably the best stallion ever bred in Ireland and the British isles. It is said by a Mr Thompson that Fred Walker owned him. I know for a fact that he did not own The Coal Horse as the horse never set foot outside of Ireland. As for Mr Thompson he knows nothing about the breed.
