Tough horse
Behind his incomparable sire, Flying Jubilee, and Buck (THE BIG LONELY HORSE), The Outcast was probably horseman/writer Ern Pedler's third-favorite mount. (See the Wikipedia article about Pedler.) Pedler mustanged on The Outcast and rode him hard in the Utah mountains and deserts for many years. The Outcast had a trappy way of going and could really travel. He was tough as nails. He was handsome. He was calm, but he did not have a sweet Morgan disposition. I first saw him in early June 1961. He was the largest and most mature looking two-year-old Morgan I've ever seen. Thereafter, I saw him many more times until he was an old horse. Ern told me he named him The Outcast because because he was such an ugly foal and kept to himself.
