Vandy had a Thoroughbred pedigree, but his dam was never registered with The Jockey Club. Vandy was registered with the National Quarter Horse Breeders Association which later merged with the American Quarter Horse Association. Vandy earned a Register of Merit and a Numbered certificate with the AQHA. After an incredibly successful racing career, Vandy sired 309 Quarter Horse foals. They included 122 race winners, 113 ROM earners, 30 stakes finalists, 15 stakes winners, 14 Superior Race Award earners, 5 Racing Champions and 1 AQHA Champion. They earned $790,573 on the track and 134.0 points in the arena. Vandy was the sire and damsire of AQHA Hall of Fame inductees Vandy’s Flash and Van Decka.
