2nd: Phoenix Hotel S. (1867). Purchasd by Gen. George A. Custer for use as a riding mount, he was the horse Custer rode into battle at Little Big Horn. It is not known if the horse died in 1876 or was carried off by Sitting Bull or his followers. There have been conflicting stories on this.
