The Landgestüt from Cell was the first Hannoverian horse imported (and flown) into (Western) Canada, by Pat Morasch, in 1960.

Weimar was the first Hannoverian registered in the General Stud and Herd Book (H1-54 A FS2A); and the first Hanoverian registered in the Canadian Hunter Stud Book (764).

The Morasches later imported two Hannoverian mares (1961) - Windrose and Fernanda, to establish the breed in Canada, and begin a new breeding program with two other mares (Thoroughbred and Arabian).
