Bred by Thomas Douglas, Paris, Kentucky. Bought in November 1902 by Leopoldine [Poldi] MacPhee, wife of Mr. Dan MacPhee, breeder and trainer (+ 1897.06.17 Vienna, b. in Canada) for 5000$. Leopoldine died December 23, 1902 as Mrs. von Schlichtegroll (50 years old) bevore the horse was comming over the ocean. Then the horse was sold to American sportsman Louis W. Winans who lived in England. Wig Wag only took part in trotting races in Austria and Mr. Winans never saw this horse at race course , and also his other horses. It was said that WIG WAG was the best trotter ever. Winans turned down all offers to buy, but made the stallion available to Austrian breeding. He was informed of the death of his horse by telegram. Sire died July 31, 1906 by colic in Baden near Wien/Vienna, Austria. Offspring: 22. 1906/1907, Österreichisch-ungarisches Traber-Zuchtbuch, Vol.III.
